Some work asks for restraint.
Studio 8 is developing a posthumous collection of war poems written by Terry Dawson, a former Rhodesian SAS soldier. The project began as a promise: to honour his work and leave a legacy. The poems were not conceived as a collection, though he hoped they might one day sit together.
The writing moves between experience and reflection — from service into aftermath. From impact to what remains.
Studio 8’s role is custodial: curating the final selection, shaping the manuscript’s structure, and developing illustration, photography, and book design in service of the voice already present. The work is restrained and unsentimental. Its weight lies in what it leaves unsaid.
